gentle slope, open, sandy granitic soil; on a Tsuga heterophylla-Clintonia uniflora habitat type, with dominant Pinus monticola, Larix occidentalis, Picea engelmannii overstory and Cenothus velutinus, Vaccinium globulare, Pachistima myrsinites understory, notable is the abundance of Populus tricocarpa and the absence of Betula papyrifera.  about 0.3 miles from Cougar Creek, just N of the N end of Priest Lake.  2500 ft.
